FreedomShopFeatures
FreedomShop covers the day at a small shop, from opening the register to the closing reports. Each job has its own screen, and the reports come from what's rung up and received on those screens.
At the register
Ring up a sale by scanning or searching for items, then take cash, a check, a card or a gift certificate, or split the payment. Put a sale on hold when a customer steps away, and pick it up again later. Discounts carry a reason, so the owner can see why prices changed.
Returns and exchanges go back against the original sale, and the items go back into stock.
Layaways and special orders
A sales order holds items for a customer. Take a deposit, record more payments as they come in, and the order shows on the awaiting-pickup list until the customer collects it. Held items stay counted in stock, and they show as held so they don't get sold twice.
Customers
Keep a customer list with addresses and purchase history. Customers with a charge account can buy on account and pay it down later, and the customer balance report shows who owes what.
Purchasing and receiving
Write purchase orders to your vendors. When the truck arrives, receive against the purchase order with a receiving voucher, and the counts go up. A reorder list shows what's running low.
Inventory
Each item belongs to a department and a vendor, with its own price, cost and on-hand count. The item list shows what's on hand, what's held and what's available. A manager can set an item's count after a stock check, and the inventory on hand report lists it all.
Sales tax
Set up each tax location with its rate, and mark exempt customers. Departments carry a taxable setting. The sales tax report breaks out what was collected for each location, for the filing periods you set.

Print price tags and labels for items as they come in, on your own label printer.

Logins
Each person who works the register gets their own login, and manager-only screens stay closed to everyone else.
Your shop's own details
Set your shop's name, address, logo, return policy and receipt wording once, and they appear on receipts, sales orders, purchase orders and reports.
